The scenery at Mountain View Grand Resort is truly something else with its wraparound views of the White Mountains from every part of the building and gardens mided with wide-open spaces. It’s been a while since I’ve worked here and I’d forgotten how incredible it is!
Christina + Michael were initially planning on an elopement while the pandemic was still in full swing and busy careers had them working non-stop but when Mountain View Grand Resort was shown to them, they pivoted and went for an intimate outdoor celebration in the gardens and under the tent. Guys, their day was literally planned and executed in just a couple of months. I wasn’t planning on taking additional weddings and was certainly not wanting to do anything large or indoors but once I heard of their fresh air celebration and got to talk to the couple to hear just how great they are, I was convinced to add on the day to my calendar!
And can I just say that Christina is one of the most expressive people in the world?! I captured so many funny faces, laughs, looks of love, and pure happiness throughout the day and you’ll see quite a few of them here, but I could’ve added a ton more!
I love her goofy fun side because as a surgeon, I know her days are filled with very serious concentrated days so on the day where she gets to marry a wonderful guy as cool and loving as Michael is, she should be free to show tons of happy faces! I definitely kept encouraging her fun side whenever I could because that is her true lovely and charismatic self that needs to be immortalized.
I mean, this is a couple who did an impromptu trust fall after their first dance…while standing on a concrete floor! I literally have a picture that is less than two seconds before the one you’ll see below and there is zero indication that she is going to trust fall! Apparently, this is their thing because Michael somehow saw the indication that she was about to do it and easily caught his wild bride as she fell back completely into his arms. Kids, don’t try this at home!
To continue with a theme that has been very present this year, they were a referral from another awesome past couple of mine who I was thrilled to be able to see – including Chris’ family who was also invited! I waited on pins and needles for when I’d get to see their smiling faces and it was so wonderful to see them all gathered together…and I get to visit them again this September for photos of their newborn daughter, yay!! I love it when past couples send me to their family and friends, it makes the day that much sweeter.
The day was seamless and with the Mountain View Grand being such a beautiful backdrop, we were never far from scenery so I’m glad we were able to steal away for a few moments throughout the day for photos in front of the magical mountain range. But out of all of it, I’m most pleased with the time we spent as a break from the reception where the heat pulled down, the light drifted over the mountains and the lush dark greens (my favorite) surrounded the couple in love. You can tell the break from the busy day was a much-needed window of time and they were able to sink into the moment and enjoy the time with just the two of them.
Thank you for inviting me to your day, Christina + Michael, I know you two will have many adventures ahead and MANY bouts of laughter to relish in. I wish you two all the best!
