Gabrielle + Sarah Portsmouth, New Castle, NH + Merrimac, MA // Wedding Photographer
Somehow I manage to connect with the most wonderful couples and Gabrielle + Sarah are certainly one of those. Gabrielle is a personal chef (I have always said if/when I am ever rich, I would hire someone to cook amazing vegetarian dinners on week nights. Sooooo Gabrielle, keep your calendar open ;) ), Sarah is a programmer by day and a Wedding DJ by night and together they make the sweetest of sweet pairings. Their love for one another and for their two babies (puppy babies that is!) is unquestionable and their support and care for one another was not only apparent to me, but is clearly SO consistent that Gabrielle’s beautiful sister Faye and her husband did a re-enactment of their lovey ways at their reception which had everyone laughing! I was like, “THAT’S SO THEM!!”
Even with skies that threatened their day (severe thunderstorm warnings were posted for their completely outdoor ceremony) and the soft rumble in the background when Gabrielle was getting ready at her house, they remained calm and simply looked forward to being finally married to one another.
Oscar was out of town, so my second shooter was the amazing, CiCi of CCK Photography. She was with Sarah at the Sise Inn while I got ready down the street with Gabrielle at their home in Portsmouth. Since they opted for a first look, we were able to grab some great pictures of the two of them as they saw each other for the first time in their backyard before the ceremony.
It was a super sweet moment (take a look at Sarah’s complete adoration of Gabrielle all dressed up! THAT’S one of the reasons I love a first look; they can talk to one another and marvel at how wonderful they look on this day) and we were able to get a ton of the group formal photos done before the ceremony – woo hoo!
The rain held off and they had a beautiful ceremony at The Great Bay Commons in New Castle, NH (where the exchanged scoops of honey that Gabrielle gathered from her own bees!) and were married in front of their closest friends and family. Then it was off to the reception at Gabrielle’s parents home on the river in Merrimac, MA where I had THE BEST meal at a wedding….ever. EVER! Handmade pizza’s fired up in the wood fired brick oven by Touched By Fire and instead of cake, they had gelato ice cream with a cute little cart and all by Gorgeous Gelato. How cool and unique, right?! Of course since Gabrielle is a chef she knows the best of the best. Definitely look into these two vendors if you want something cool, delicious and fun for your day.
Congratulations, Sarah + Gabrielle, you looked gorgeous and your wedding and marriage are truly fabulous.
