Dover New Hampshire City Hall Elopement Photographer: Danika + Greg

I LOVE SHOOTING ELOPEMENT CEREMONIES!! Don’t get me wrong, a wedding with the frills and fun of decorating, deciding on delicious desserts, creating that perfect playlist and celebrating until the wee hours of the night with family and friends is AWESOME too, but I think it’s the special attachment to Oscar + I’s elopement that makes my heart skip an extra beat when I get to photograph ceremonies that follow that same path. I love the intimacy of these days, the removal of (most) stresses and the ability for the couple to really do whatever the hell they want because they aren’t worried about someone being unhappy because you didn’t have gluten free cake alongside the bomb-diggity cake ;) Although, honestly what I love most about the weddings I am a part is when the couple makes the wedding theirs because THAT is what the day is allll about!

So when Danika contacted me about 3 weeks ago asking me to photograph her elopement taking place in my very own hometown, I was super excited! She and Greg are both going to be living in Massachusetts but as Danika began her search for the perfect City Hall to be married in, she was finding that most buildings were bland and lacked the certain charm she was looking for. Greg has been visiting NH since he was a kid and loves the state so Danika switched gears and fell upon Dover where she was hooked on the historical and classic feel that not only the City Hall had, but also the streets of Dover itself too. So to Dover it was!

They were joined by a small group of family and friends (you can see the whole guest list in the group photo below!) and made it official right outside the City Hall on the grass. Then we walked around to a few spots around town (they were super excited to have photos done so they were a photographer’s dream when we had around an hour to walk around a take photos!), said hi to the Police horses and grabbed some shots of their newlywed bliss.

It was a perfect day for a wedding (and Greg’s birthday is the same day as Oscar + I’s wedding anniversary so we were high-fiving each other on how awesome that date is) and Danika + Greg were a perfect couple to photograph.
