Stacy + Mike York Beach Maine Wedding // Maine Wedding Photographer

Stacy searched for the perfect fit in a photographer and when she reached out to me for her wedding to Mike at a private residence in York, Maine I was super excited to photograph her sweet affair in front of 70 of their closest friends and family. Her wishes were simple: capture the day as I always do, but with one caveat, capture lots of moments with her son who I could tell from minute one she adored. He was an integral piece of the day from having him walk her down the aisle and be Mike’s Best Man, to letting him choose their accent color (red shoes for the two of them – his being Converse and hers being fabulous Jimmy Choos and red striped socks for Mike!). Her sweet request and love for her little guy tugged at my heart, I couldn’t wait to meet the three of them. Since she was traveling to Maine from California, we didn’t have time to do an engagement shoot but she did ask for me to join them at their rehearsal dinner – more on that tomorrow! – and this is where I started to see just how carefully and perfectly Stacy had planned her wedding.

Stacy chose and arranged everything from buying the perfect items off of Etsy to making sure the 13 kids in attendance would have plenty of space to play croquet (although I think they had more fun searching for a stray kitty that crashed the party!) and it was truly an honor to be one of the pieces she hand picked for her special day. She’s a smart, quiet and beautiful woman with an over abundance of love for her son, and I couldn’t help commenting to everyone how wonderfully she has raised him. Their relationship was an easy one to capture, and I loved when they did an impromptu fist bump (so glad I caught that moment!) right before they headed out to walk down the aisle.

And let’s not even get into Mike’s family home where they were married, you know, just a gorgeous home that sits above the rocky shores of Maine where guests could enjoy the sailboats behind them as they ate dinner among the stars. Wow, wow, wow! This was a wonderful evening, to say the least, and it also brought me together with my new friend, Amber Small from the fabulous Sweetest Thing who was the coordinator as well as the florist for Stacy. These.flowers.were.gorgeous. And they smelled so good! Maybe some of the best flowers I have seen at a wedding.

Oh, I can’t forget the band! Chasing Blue was awesome and it helps they are such a nice group of people; I loved their music. And the live painter! I’m telling you there were so many cool details at this wedding! The live painter, Ken Lund, was a gift from a friend of Mike’s and in 6 hours he did an original piece which you can check out in the pictures below. AMAZING!
