Alli + Jeff gathered immediate family and a handful of close friends to set sail on getting married on a beautiful sunny day in York, Maine. They are very conscious of their relationship needs and they knew it was best to keep the celebration intimate so the focus could be on the marriage and less on being the center of attention; what resulted suited their love perfectly and brought out all of the laughter and tears!
The spring and early summer weather here was primarily rainy, but the two of them awoke to a bright sunny day and The Viewpoint Hotel gave them the crystal clear backdrop of the Nubble lighthouse they’d been dreaming of. It’s a stunning view for a wedding!
My favorite part of the day was the first time they saw each other right by the water’s edge. Alli had been running a little behind schedule (as they knew she would haha!) and Jeff patiently waited while I could feel the intensity of the moment setting in for him. Once he got his first look at her with her curls rustling in the wind and her stunning dress, there was no holding back on the tears any longer.
He kept trying so hard to compose himself all throughout their moments of telling each other quiet promises together, but knowing that forever was starting that day in just a few short minutes was more than he could handle. Alli too gently wiped away some tears but she mostly just smiled her warm and absolutely illuminating smile while he held her hands in his.
And the emotions didn’t stop there! They continued through seeing the family before the photos of everyone together, and they were present during the the expertly officiated ceremony overlooking the ocean.
I have to also say that this was the first time I myself have been mentioned before in a ceremony which took me completely by surprise! They talked about the engagement photos I took of them and their pets and how meaningful they were to them and the family which was so cool!! To know that they loved the photos that much and appreciated the time capsule I took for them was incredible.
Speaking of pets, I couldn’t possibly write this blog without mention of their cake made by the extremely talented Owen Dyer who crafted, along with his husband, the most perfect sculptures of their two dogs and cat! I don’t normally include pictures of cakes in blogs, but it was impossible NOT to do it this time. Since I got to meet all three of those furry faces I can say without a doubt that they did a perfect job; I can’t believe everything they were made of was entirely edible!
It was a beautiful day and I’m so honored I got to be a part of it. Thank you to Alli, Jeff, and their family and friends for having me and for your hospitality. I wish you all the best!
