Shady Lane Farm New Gloucester Maine : Amy + Josh

Amy + Josh are such quietly loving people who enjoy being outside whether that is hiking with their pup or walking around in the city hand in hand. I had so much fun getting to know them at their engagement session in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and the fact that they so wanted to take in the beauty of the location in their photos let me know that this was going to be a great match. When the wedding day finally did roll around, it was so fun to be reunited with them and to meet all of the people they love and care for so much.

The two of them told me long ago that they wanted a wedding day that felt natural and rustic, and one that was full of good times, good food, and good music. I have to say guys: mission accomplished! And Josh, thank you for doing me a solid and letting me know you made sure that the pond at the wedding day venue was clear of all sharks and scuba divers, you’re a gem! (you’ll have to read the engagement session blog for more info on why he told me that haha!)

Shady Lane Farm in New Gloucester, Maine was such a great backdrop for their vision with it’s low hanging trees, wide open fields, chickens out in the coop, and a giant farmhouse they bustled in and as they got ready for the day. Amy grew up on acres of land out in Tennessee (we have that past TN residency thing in common!) and Josh grew up running around outdoors and going on adventures all across Maine so this was the perfect location to bring their two lives together. It was the perfect medley with a laid back vibe of that country life.

The day was warm and that sun held bright in the sky but just before it set, we raced outside for some sunset photos and we all noticed how much the air had cooled and how a breeze was now pouring in through the wide open barn doors where dancing and laughter filled the fields. We snuck some photos outside and the couple relished in that quick moment of quiet to enjoy one another before heading back up for the rest of the night’s fun…and we got some pretty amazing photos of the sunset lighting up the sky!
