Hey everybody, I’d like you to meet two of the cutest high school sweethearts on the planet: Janae + Justin! These two grew up in Indiana (midwest couple + photographer raised in the midwest = perfect) and then work brought them out to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for a couple of years before they return again to the great midwest. A wedding is set in Nashville, Tennessee (seriously, can we have more locations in common?) but before that, they wanted some engagement photos in the seaside town they love!
Because they’ve known each other so long, they are the furthest thing from being shy when together. They lovingly poke fun at the other’s quirks and hearing them talk about their history as a couple is so sweet. My favorite part? Justin initially was pumped to date Janae because she got her driver’s license and car first – he swears that their brief breakup the day he got his driver’s license was juuuuust a coincidence! Insert Janae rolling her eyes here :) Thankfully they quickly made their way back together and closed out high school as a couple.
Justin, I love how within the first couple of moments of meeting you turned to the man who interrupted our conversation to tell you about a concert and instead of being annoyed, you instantly said “thanks!” and took a genuine interest in what he had to say. That and the fact that moments later after I complimented you both on your style, you proudly announced that you, and you alone, picked out your outfit for the evening and did everything short of a spin for me – well done! Haha! And Janae, I firmly believe that there is plenty of time in life for you to look into a singing career! Your soft serenading to the radio while we waited for a ship to pass under the bridge and then your no holds barred, arms gesturing, and hair waving in the wind when singing along to The Little Mermaid performance in the park made me want to squeeze the crap out of you!
And I can’t forget to mention Rory, their puppy! They wanted to grab a couple of pictures with him at the end of our session and earlier in the evening Justin asked if Janae told me what kind of dog their little guy was. She hadn’t and Justin got so excited for me to see him and said he’d save the surprise for when Rory arrived. HOLY CRAP DID I FREAK OUT! Just you wait – I bet you will too!
I had a great time with these two running around Portsmouth, NH and I know their wedding is going to be piles of fun and love – congratulations, Janae + Justin!!
