Rachel + Brett from day one told me they wanted to incorporate their fun easy going lifestyle along with the love for their four children into the wedding and I can DEFINITELY say they did that with no questions asked. From Brett’s son wearing a custom made Star Wars vest (Brett even walked down the aisle to The Imperial March – yes, Darth Vader’s song!) to their daughters wearing custom made rainbow colored flower girl dresses designed by the oldest of the bunch, and then for good measure they had a wedding cake designed to honor Frankenstein and his Bride – this day was endless fun for the couple and all of their family and friends invited. The 36 kids in attendance had so much fun making art work at the craft table and entering the reception all together in a dance filled “Kid’s Parade” but the music from Dr. Dubious & The Agnostics was what kept everyone was bouncing that evening.
Oscar and I had a great time shooting this wedding at the beautiful Flag Hill Winery in Lee, New Hampshire and reveling in all of the details Brett + Rachel put together to make the day truly a reflection of them. I honestly love love love that all of my couples this year have decided to break away from the restraints of the “traditions” that so many feel are supposed to happen at weddings and really make sure everything showcases exactly what their love for one another means. Truly, the day is about your love for one another and all these couples just get it.
