Seacoast Weddings Magazine Feature: The Barn at Crane Estate & Linekin Bay Resort

The latest issue of Seacoast Weddings Magazine has a full feature on my couple Christina + Sam from their Barn at Crane Estate wedding in Ipswich Massachusetts AND a full-page image from Brianna + Jarid’s Linekin Bay Resort wedding in Boothbay Harbor Maine!

It’s no wonder that Christina + Sam’s wedding day was one they wanted to feature, The Barn at Crane Estate is stunning and the two of them were absolutely incredible. I loved that they had a laid back day where they stood without a wedding party on the lawn overlooking the property and said their vows with the help of her brother and then after we wandered the property finding the most beautiful pockets of light to photograph their love in, they celebrated in the barn with the best father-daughter dance and packed the dance floor for hours.

Traveling is a huge part of their relationship so there were calls to that in the decorations as well as bringing in the rich deep colors of the start of fall into their flowers and the dresses the women in the family wore.

Sam looked great in his tux and Christina – daaaang, girl – you are beautiful! The elegance mixed with their personal touches made for such a loving and gorgeous wedding day and I’m so happy that Seacoast Weddings Magazine felt the same.

Then a new section in the magazine is the black and white “Moments” section that is full page images from photographers of the in-between parts of the day that are frequently overlooked in printed publications and I love that they included this! The paper not only feels different in this section, but with the removal of color, it really immerses you in these little spots of each of the couple’s day.

For the image of mine that they featured from Brianna + Jarid’s Linekin Bay Resort wedding, it was actually a semi-stressful moment for Brianna where her dress was incorrectly sewn and the scissors had to come out to fix it!

Here’s what I wrote to describe the image: “The best parts of a wedding are frequently the unplanned moments, the hiccups in the day or the unexpected, overwhelming emotions you didn’t know you’d have – so as a wedding photojournalist I’m always at the ready to get close and capture those real-life parts of the day. In Brianna’s case, it was the moment when her mom and sister grabbed a pair of scissors because the bustle for her dress had accidentally been sewn in wrong and the long beautiful train wasn’t releasing. Thankfully it was a quick fix, Brianna was never anything other than calm (her mind was focused on Jarid and their upcoming ceremony!) and I loved the image of these two women springing into action while also trying to remain calm in the same breath.”

I love this added section of the magazine because those photojournalistic moments are so fun for me to capture because they really do fill in the story of the day and show couples that there is beauty even in the stress or imperfect parts of the day too.

You can pick up this issue on newsstands all year long at stores all across New England to view these images in person!

The cover image is NOT mine, but the rest of the following images are :)
