Lately I have had an idea brewing in my mind for a personal photo series that I would like to do and it all started with my friend Abby and her horses. I love love love love shooting people, families and events because it is so fun knowing I’m capturing memories that will serve as a landmark of sorts to always commemorate that time in their lives. Yet on the flip side, I also just like being an observer where I am just a fly on the wall taking pictures with only my internal intentions to worry about and no real concern that I may miss an important shot for the client. Both experiences are equally awesome and provide me with two totally different feelings of enjoyment. It’s all about balance, and balance makes me feel at ease; as my mom would say, “That’s just the Libra in you.”
I’m not going to come right out and say what this series idea is that I have idling around in my brain, but it may become obvious when I start posting up here what will seem to be “random” photos that a wedding/family photographer might take. So this is your warning; please don’t be alarmed if you see pictures of cats dressed up as bears and dogs wearing colorful wigs while acting out great moments in human history…it’s all part of the art….kidding, kidding.
To start the randomness, I will post some pictures I randomly took of Oscar at one of the many awesome random graveyards in Portsmouth. And no, these aren’t part of the series…but the first one does look like I was trying to shoot Oscar’s solo band pic : )
Why so serious?
Thaaaaat’s more like it.
I love this angel. I always say to my family that they can bury me without any embalming or preservation chemicals and to just put me in a simple pine box…BUT they have to give me some cool headstone. Not requiring something as cool as her, but hey, if they are feeling up to it, I won’t mind!
