Congratulations, Kate. You looked marvelous.

Let me start by saying that I didn’t get wrapped up in the hullabaloo that lead up to today’s Royal Wedding. I should actually re-phrase that: I didn’t get wrapped up in the hullabaloo of anything news/entertainment/life that happened the past two weeks because I have been working like crazy with breaks just for eating and general hanging with my fam. Really. It’s so bad that I didn’t know tornados were ravaging the south….where my PARENTS live….yeah, that’s bad. I didn’t know that until I got a text from my mom saying, “Electricity is back on after 2 days but we are ok in all of the storms”.

And I just realized that Jennifer Lopez’s new album comes out next week. How could I not know that either? So out of it.

Back to my point, I didn’t get wrapped up in the wedding and although I wasn’t majorly excited and didn’t watch the ceremony live, I did go to trusty Yahoo and watch short clips, get a little misty eyed as they rode away in the carriage and seriously fell in LOVE with her wedding dress. Aw, Kate Middleton is so pretty, cute, poised and lovely. I really do like her. And her dress was a McQueen? Get out! So cool. I’m happy for them.

Now further on my point, I don’t know why people are so pissed and negative that others are excited about this. They are a good family with a history of doing good things for the world (they aren’t perfect, but c’mon they aren’t evil either), a girl is becoming a princess which doesn’t happen all of the time, the two seem genuinely happy and it’s a family that the whole world has followed for so many years. Maybe the media coverage was crazy (again, I don’t know because I was off in la la land), but oh well! It’s a happy event so why be upset? Is it not cool to be happy for them?

There is a photographer whose work I am quite fond of and he posted on his Twitter, “I am genuinely confused by Americans being so into the UK wedding thing. Pop culture continues 2 make me feel like Im a weirdo 4 not caring.” Ok fine, he doesn’t see the point, even though we do have such a close tie to that country and always have…but what gets me is this guy is a Wedding Photographer who shoots weddings…for a living….and then posts them to his blog which has thousands of followers made up of people who all get excited to see the wedding photos he posts even though they don’t know the people (or him) in the pictures. Whoa. I would think of all people he’d get it, right? That blew my mind.

I guess I am just wondering why people were so negative about the wedding in general. Like I said, I wasn’t obsessive and I don’t know all of the wedding details, but it was fun to see clips and pictures and to look at how pretty Kate was.

So today I am going to say congratulations to Kate and William and I don’t care if people think I am “not cool” because I am happy for them so there : )

And again, how out of touch am I? I didn’t know how Kate talked, so when we heard this video Oscar and I thought for about 3 seconds that it was real at first and looked at each other with HUGE eyes and were like, ‘Whaaaaaat?” Hahahaha!
