It’s always a good day when I get to be a Linekin Bay Resort wedding photographer – working up in Boothbay Harbor Maine at this camp feel venue is something I always enjoy being a part of. Maine wedding days along the ocean are pretty much guaranteed to be beautiful – even if the rain decides to come in for a visit! Christina + Jeremy brought their friends and family from far away to the place they discovered and instantly fell in love: the land of coastal Maine.
They’d had wonderful weather leading up to their wedding, but on the day of – just as the ceremony was getting ready to begin – the skies decided it was time to rain a little. Still though, everyone – including guests, myself and the officiant – was down to continue with the ceremony in the light downpour so the couple could enjoy the views as they said “I do.”
And then it rained a lot… A lot, a lot.
So the couple delayed the ceremony and toasted with champagne inside the cabin hoping the storm would pass, but sadly it didn’t and the ceremony was quickly picked up and moved to the reception hall where they had panoramic window views of the rain falling onto the ocean waves.
Best part? The bride and groom were fazed a single bit! They were of course bummed to not have the outdoor ceremony they planned for, but the most important thing was getting married to one another and the rain wasn’t going to change that plan!
So through a tear and laughter filled ceremony complete with their sweet dog Bagel walking down the aisle, they married one another in front of their loved ones and to the sound of the rain falling on the deck behind us. And after a celebratory smashing of the glass to seal the deal, they asked if I would still be ok with going out on the boat for some pictures and if I’ve photographed you in the past you KNOW my answer was “Yes!!”
While the Cris Craft boat took us across the water and close to the small islands in the harbor, they read their vows to each other, toasted with a (couple) glasses of champagne, and came back to the dinner bell being rung calling the guests inside to start the toasts, dinner, and dancing!
It was a beautiful celebration through and through with wonderful people all surrounding the newlyweds with joy and love all throughout the day. Christina + Jeremy, congratulations on your Maine wedding celebration, I wish you two all the best!!
Christina’s sister couldn’t keep the tears at bay after seeing her put on the wedding gown – I love her!
Bagel! So handsome!
Their sweet flower girl is playing a little game of Where’s Waldo in this one :)
