Step One.

As I mentioned at the end of last week, I’m going to be doing little tweaks here and there with my business to make sure it truly reflects who I am and what I love and believe in. So as promised, I’m going to let you in on one of those changes right about….now!

Well, one second, let me first explain: I have been trying to figure out different ways I can give back to my community and groups I believe in and how I can incorporate that desire into my business. I have come up with quite a few ideas and although I plan to use as many of them as possible, everything I was coming up with required coordinating with other organizations, getting approvals from boards, drawing up contracts and so on; basically they weren’t things I could just DO right away…until this quite simple one came along.

I have decided that with the photo galleries that I place online for clients, a percentage of the money that is made from their purchases will go directly to one of a few different organizations. The organizations will most likely rotate and change up, but no matter what, I will always donate a percentage to a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I figure that quarterly I will round up the totals, take the percentage right from there and send off a check to a group that can always benefit from the support!

And can I tell you how excited I am to FIND these causes that I want to donate to??? So much fun!! I currently donate personally to a couple of animal welfare groups so I am sure that those will jump into the rotation, but I would love for YOU – my readers and my clients – to let me know if you have a group you feel I should donate to. I will look into each of them and maybe add a few of them to the list!

So not only do I get to give back, but I also enable my clients to give to these groups while they get some pictures they will cherish many years down the road. Sound like a plan to you? Sure does to me!
