On a late Spring afternoon in Portland Maine I photographed Rebecca + Don’s intimate wedding along the Eastern Promenade and downtown – there was a chill in the air but these two didn’t let it get in their way.
The perfect timing of the day may slip away or the weather may decide it’s going to force you to improvise on the day of your wedding…or a million and one other speedbumps may appear at your feet on the day you marry your love…but does any of it matter if the vows you say to one another brought a tear to your eye, if you slipped away from the rush of the morning to sip a coffee with your forever person and they looked at you the way only they can, and if when you signed that piece of paper the promise was sealed and the next steps you took were now and forever in sync with the one that makes your heart feel full?
Rebecca + Don smiled, laughed, held one another, teared up, and most of all – they married one another.
They said their vows in a city they love, in a chapel sitting amongst the peace of a beautifully wooded cemetery, and in front of just a select few people who they wanted to share these fleeting moments with.
It was intimate with that small group of close family and friends at the Samuel Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery and it was intimate when they took to sharing toasts and filling their bellies with delicious food upstairs at 555 in Portland, Maine.
Rebecca + Don, congratulations on a wonderful wedding day. I’m so honored to know you and to photograph you. I wish you all the best!
