I AM …. a Spruce Point Inn Resort wedding photographer and I photographed Liz + Ryen at the start their story beginning in beautiful Boothbay Harbor <3

What seems like forever ago, I photographed Liz + Ryen up in Kettle Cove, Maine for their engagement photos and from moment one they hardly had a moment of not smiling and laughing between them and I could tell they genuinely loved spending every moment together.

While the plans for the wedding were still being made, there were some things that were already set to be featured. They promised me they were preparing for a wild celebration where yacht rock was going to be heavily featured, Ryen’s love for wrestling was sure to somehow be a centerpiece of the day, and there was absolutely positively definitely going to be some crazy ass partying.

THEY WERE NOT LYING!

From the moment they were announced into the reception with the wedding party kneeling down banging on the floor to welcome them in all the way through the giant boxes of yacht hats were ripped open and thrown to the dancing crowd (a gift from Hall & Oats, obviously) and absolute full out wrestling happening on the dance floor – it was a friggin’ P A R T Y !

The day started out with a great energy as well since Liz is never the shy one and she makes for an absolute blast to photograph. She wasn’t afraid of walking out in the rain for photos (even in a beautifully decadent tulle dress!) because it meant more time with Ryen and the weather wasn’t going to put a damper on their celebrating! She tiptoed down to him for their first look while he watched the waves roll in and he hugged her with pure delight when he saw her standing before him with all of her gorgeousness and smiles.

They tearfully read vows as the rain fell, hung out on the docks and in the woods for some photos (Liz said, “Oh, Sarah, this is SO you over here” SHE WAS RIGHT) and then once the reception had fully cooked up a sweat with all the dancing and wrestling, I pulled them outside in the pouring rain for some photos under the umbrella.

IT WAS GLORIOUS!

I always tell couples to not be shy about the rain and instead, let’s play in it and it was no surprise to me that these two were game – yay!

Liz, Ryen + your soon to be little boy (!!!!) I wish you all the best – I had so much fun photographing your day and holy crap Ryen your siblings are seriously the greatest! Lots of love to you all!
