From the first time I talked to Anna on the phone, I knew this was a wedding I had to have! Not only did the wedding day sound like pure amazing, I felt like she and I just clicked and I enjoyed the person she was so much that I found myself with a permanent smile even after we hung up the phone – I was dying to hear more about she and her fiance, Jefferson. Thankfully my wish came true and I scooped them up for their wedding at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor, Maine! To kick off the Maine party, these Massachusetts dwellers drove up to Portland, Maine where we wandered the City Hall, the cobblestone streets, and the waterfront getting some great images of the two of them.
Anna’s a straight shooter, there’s no pretending to be something she isn’t, she’s cool and that’s that. She also is inquisitive about everything and totally open to not just laughing at the absurdity that surrounds everyday life, but also at herself and isn’t afraid to do something goofy for a laugh…or even on accident like when she made her hair appointment to get fancied up for session at a salon in Portland…OREGON. For that last bit, I feel like we are kindred spirits and I have always said that oddities and funny quirks are two things that just make me fall for people!
Jefferson is one of those guys that you can tell after a few short moments that he’s one smart cookie. He has that awesome kind of intelligence where you can see his quick, analytical mind whirring when some random question comes up (from me and Anna) about things like Custom Houses and if they even do anything anymore and what becomes of these grand buildings since they are sort of an out of date concept. Yes he knew the answers to this as well as some questions I had about dry docking boats and how strong wooden docks have to be to hold cars and buildings. I’m always loving to learn so when I find people like this, I absolutely love it! I frequently will be struck by really random questions about life and now I have yet another person who I can add to the list of people I can send such questions to, haha!
And one of my most favorite things? The thing that makes me fall head over heels in love with them? Their sweet bird Peeps and how much they love him! They have countless stories about him and the shenanigans he gets into and they even have him stay with a special bird person when they are off travelling the world who not only makes sure he’s fed and watered, but will also take him out and play with him each day. EEEEP! Animal lovers steal my heart every time! Anna emails me gifts of Peeps pictures here and there and I get so excited when an email with the subject line of “Peeps!” pops up. He’s a cutie, just like his parents.
I can’t wait to spend more time with these two and not only are they creative, gorgeous, and intelligent, they are also down to have a great time no matter what and have no shame in letting the weirdness that so many people repress show itself. I love them and I can’t wait for their Boothbay Harbor wedding next year and to get to know these two (three! Peeps!) even better. I think I’ve met some more great friends in these two!
And this is my most favorite from our night – I love Anna’s big warm smile and the loving look Jefferson is giving her. Jackpot!
