Mount Washington Omni Resort New Hampshire Wedding // Jackie + Alex

I haven’t had the chance to shoot a Mount Washington Omni Resort wedding before, but it has been on my list of places I would LOVE to work so when Jackie + Alex asked me to shoot their Great Gatsby inspired wedding there, I was ecstatic! Jackie sent me updates filling me in on the plans for the day full of colors, design inspiration and her gown but nothing prepared me for the gorgeous-ness of what unfolded on their wedding day.

After spending some time with the guys getting ready, and discovering that Alex is one gracious, kind, and cool guy (who had cufflinks made out of meteorites. METEORITES!!! Favorite cufflinks ever!) we headed up to the girls on the next floor and were instantly stunned by the gowns and the women wearing them as we entered her suite.

Alex’s sweet sister, Seta, had joined us with the guys and her deep blue gown with subtle cut-outs and sparkling sequins made me ooooo and ahhhhh and then when she told us that all of the girls had different sparkling stunners I should’ve known it was going to be incredible. But when we walked in and all of those gorgeous girls were moving about in their black tie attire, I couldn’t handle it. So unique and so different from any other wedding I photographed. Magical!

Jackie was bustling about with her soft spoken voice, her continual smile, and her gracious personality that matched her soon-to-be husband’s and I fell in love with them and their day even more. Perfect location, perfect wedding party, perfect families, and perfect wedding day design.

The only small hitch in the plan was the stranger than strange weather for a mid June weekend where the cold was quite surprising. With low 60 degree temperatures and skies that threatened rain, I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to have their wedding overlooking the beautiful NH Mountain range. But Jackie + Alex, along with their family and wedding party weren’t going to be dissuaded and as long as it didn’t pour, we would have that view to be married in front of! Love it!!! My couples are the best!

So with the mountains in the background and a sea of loving faces, they were married to one another and then went off to celebrate in the grand ballroom of the Mount Washington Omni Resort. It was a wonderful day that I’m so pleased we got to be a part of.

This bottle of whisky was given to a young Alex from his father. He sipped it over the years as he grew up and then on this day he finished off the bottle with his best friends and sister toasting together.

The Jewell Terrace has one incredible view to be married in front of.
