Spectacle Island Massachusetts Wedding Photographer // Erin + Karen

The weeks leading up to Karen + Erin’s wedding were full of dreary rain filled afternoons that were more like the type of day you’d curl up with a slanket (yes, slanket) and read a novel or two than the type to spend the day playing on a forgotten island and then dancing the night away on a ship out in the middle of the ocean. But as if on queue, the week picked onnnne day to be incredibly perfect with bright sun and warmth beaming on these two lovely ladies in love.

And it was quite the intense week leading up to the wedding – no, not just because weddings are often fraught with last minute details and re-working of the seating chart to avoid bickering relatives – it was intense because Erin was leading her team to the college World Series for women’s softball…and they friggin’ WON! Just as Karen’s cousin would say in his toast, this meant you’d have to find a team of aliens if you wanted to find someone capable of beating her team because them suckers won the WORLD series. Boom!

So there was much cause for celebration and these two ladies and their closest friends and family did it right with a wedding was on the pier at Spectacle Island in the Boston harbor followed by a raucous celebration on The Majesty Cruise ship where the backdrop was the city all ablaze. Their love for one another was so crystal clear and the insane amount of support and care their family had for them was extremely heartwarming (one groomsman – who is also a pretty “loved to be hated” character on the show Private Practice -had one of those speeches that NO ONE wanted to follow it was so good!). From the wedding party’s sparkly topsiders down to breakdancing on the dance floor – this was a wedding to remember for sure.

I am so glad I got the chance to join my new friend Vail Fucci on this wonderful wedding along with In the Pink Ink wedding planners who arranged this day with such care. And I am also so pleased to live in/near states that recognize that love is love and who we choose to marry is just that – our choice.
