Oh these two! I have been looking forward to their wedding because Courtney + Rumel have such a great style about themselves and I couldn’t wait to see how they would meld her sweet, quiet nature and love of books with his charming, outgoing, old school hip-hop loving and rapper ways (yes yes, ya’ll!) – and I have to say, it was just as I expected and more!

The couple were joined by close family and friends on a roasty Labor Day weekend over at Stonehurst in Waltham, MA where they were able to marry on the front lawn and celebrate in the home’s great hall. Once again, the weather threatened to be a big jerk and storm all over the place, but it didn’t! YAY! And so their plans went off without a hitch.

We enjoyed a First Look out on the side yard away from arriving guests with the bridesmaids looking down at them and letting out a dreamy “awwww!” when Rumel first saw his bride to be; so cute! Doing the first look allowed for us to get a whole bunch of the family formal photos all tied up so that the cocktail hour and reception were enjoyed sooner!

Their ceremony had a few wonderful readings by family and friends as well as a ring warming ceremony where the couple’s wedding bands which were held together by a coral ribbon were passed through everyone at the ceremony to each pass their well wishes to the couple. I think that’s my favorite wedding tradition!

The reception tables were decorated with gorgeous flowers with brown feather accents and antique books all tied with coral ribbons, it was all perfectly put together. Courtney radiated in her bird cage veil and sweet blue flats and how awesome are the two brooches on her dress? Seriously, she planned out these details so well! And her bouquet?? AMAZING! And it was one of the largest arrangements I have seen in a while with soft corals and greens, so romantic and warm.

And Rumel’s “must play” songs for the night definitely had me dancing out there with them, I love my Jay-Z and KRS-One! I think of all my grooms, he and I were on another level with our shared music likes.

Courtney + Rumel, I am so pleased you two were able to have the day you hoped for, I’m just sad that it’s all over! I wish you all the best!
