Early last year, Sarah + Tom were the first 2014 couple to book me for their Alden Castle wedding so I kiiiinda feel like we have been friends forever at this point :) I’ve loved getting to know the two of them and we had such a great time at their engagement shoot that I knew their wedding was going to also be a wonderful adventure. They are both so easy going and sweet people who were excited to be married – they even enjoyed trying to make the other one crack up laughing when I would be shooting pictures of just one of them at a time which always makes for great pictures!
The two of them chose to have a first look which we ended up doing in Sarah’s gigantic bridal suite at The Hotel Commonwealth. Sarah sat behind the translucent double doors that went to the bedroom portion of the room and awaited Tom’s arrival (and she cutely said, “Hi Tom” as he entered the room and could see her figure in the doorway) and then when she opened to doors to reveal herself, it was all over from there! Sarah not only looked stunning in her dress and long veil but her beaming smile and her over the top happiness ended all of those jitters she’d been having leading up to that moment. Tom couldn’t stop saying how much he loved her dress and how beautiful she looked, and I couldn’t have agreed more.
The wedding went off without a hitch at the beautiful Alden Castle where her guests enjoyed an unplugged ceremony (which I love because it means the guests are all looking at the couple and enjoying the moment where they say “I DO!” instead of being wrapped up in getting a picture on their iPhone from the back row) and after three wonderful speeches by Sarah’s super cute sister and maid of honor, the hilarious Best Man and Sarah’s loving dad the party jumped into full effect and this group had a great time dancing and celebrating the night away.
Congratulations to the both of you on a beautiful wedding filled with tons of laughter and love! You two are awesome!
