Devon in Portsmouth, NH // Dover NH High School Senior Photographer

HOO DOGGY, I’m a busy girl! September is the busiest month out of the year for me since it is the favorite month for weddings (seriously, I am already halfway booked for NEXT September) and it is also the time where I get to hang out with High School seniors who are excited to get their photos all done for the yearbook!

Devon came to me from a former client of mine, Zoe (who rules) and just like Zoe, she is heavily involved in the theater program at Dover High and even created her own theater group that produces and presents plays! She’s an ambitious girl that when she sets her sites on what she wants, she will work work work to make it happen.

Take for instance, her admiration of the actress Kristen Johnson (you know, the talented and beautiful blond from the show “3rd Rock from the Sun”). Well Devon has always been a fan of hers so she started messaging her via Twitter, one thing led to another and they developed a friendship that even resulted in some hanging out in NYC the weekend before our shoot! Devon was there looking at colleges and Kristen invited her and her mom to a class she was teaching in the city. So cool, right?

And I can see why Kristen would think the world of Devon, she’s a great girl, smiles for days, is ambitious but not cut throat, and she is smart smart smart…and she has the most perfect hue of red hair! So easy to photograph :D

But there’s just one thing…Devon brought the NYC WIERD with her on her shoot hahaha! One thing after another kept happening, first it was a boy on a skateboard who I got very momma bear with and told him not to touch her when he insisted on a photo with her, then there was the random people who kept interacting with us as we meandered around Portsmouth for her shoot (one gave me bunny ears when I was shooting pictures of her) and then there was the strange bicycle fight…and the woman who stopped and watch us take pictures in the park for a little while…oh the list goes on! I just blame it on her magnetism and that funky NYC energy that she must have still had hanging around :D
