Sarah + Jonathan have known each other since high school and it wasn’t until after college that they began dating. They chose to spend that time knowing one another but keeping juuuuust enough distance that they could spend those years in between growing separately and experiencing the good and the bad that life brings before deciding that the people they’d changed into over the years was the perfect fit for one another.
And let me tell you, I’m a fan of the slow burn just as much as I am over the couples that meet and fall head over heels instantly because there’s no doubting the cosmic draw – both are so much fun to witness. With these two, I think the gradual build over time further cemented their feelings and suits their personalities so well that I think any other path to their wedding day wouldn’t have made more sense.
They have an ease, a clear love, and a true admiration for one another that anyone can feel and sense. The years of knowing the ins and outs of what the other likes and needs to be happy, the ability to fall into the other and yet still remain so unique on their own is a strong part of their love and I know that time was a factor in creating that beautiful bond for them.
The number of times he gazed at her with eyes overflowing with love is infinite. The number of times she shined brighter than a star when in his presence is infinite.
They go together and there is no doubt about that among any of us who’ve had the chance to know them – whether you’re someone like us who have only spent hours getting to know them or if you’re family that has followed their story from day one – this love is the real deal.
I loved photographing them and seeing the gentle way they love the other and the soothing way they smiled and laughed while hand in hand; getting to experience that sort of love they share makes me feel that all is right in the world and these two definitely did that for me!
With sisters who couldn’t stop laughing and sharing how they couldn’t be happier to add more members to the family to the sweetest little flower girl who wanted to be a part of every moment of the day to the friends who couldn’t have been more excited to celebrate these two – it was the greatest way to spend a Saturday up at Hardy Farm in Maine.
Sarah + Jonathan, I know you will never stop loving each other just the way you did on this day – I’m so happy you two brought me along to photograph your celebration! I wish you all the best and I send another HUGE congratulations to you, Sarah, you graduated medical school AND got married in the same week – you are the real deal!!
