Jenny + Chad are filling up their bucket list check boxes by visiting every state in the US and a little while ago, it was finally time to visit the New England area! They were looking forward to seeing the state of Maine but didn’t realize just how in love with it they’d fall – I know that feeling well! They traveled here from Dallas, Texas where the city life full of concrete doesn’t leave much room for rocky coasts, quaint towns by the water, and a slower pace to life and I was excited as all get out to be asked to photograph them while they visited.
These two lookers have been together for nine years and I’ve been doing more of these shoots with couples who know that it’s important to have new pictures to hang on the walls (and not the kind taken with your cell phone). I named these types of shoots “Connection Shoots” and they’re a great time to just melt into the one you love, celebrate the time you’ve been together, laugh a ton (I’m a dork, so you may just end up laughing at me), and create a whole new set of memories.
Jenny + Chad were like hanging out with old friends, we were laughing from square one and making jokes about our word choices (Chad was SO EXCITED when he found out I say “Dang!” and it became our motto for the day), and slipping into our southern accents as the night creeped up on us and we were getting a wee bit tired and after some playing in the mud. Yes, we played in the mud…and it was their idea!
I love you guys and I wish I could’ve spent more time driving around with you to your New England visits, I guess I will just have to settle for your next trip to this area. Photo shoot in the forest in the thick of winter was what we agreed on, right guys? :) DAAAAANG!!
When the people you’re photographing point to the boats they can allllmost touch since the tide is so low and they ask you, “Can we go out there?!” you say “ABSOLUTELY!!” We kicked off our shoes and headed out for a walk in the low tides of Maine!
