On a sunny warm Sunday morning Amanda + Max said their I Do’s at the Seacoast Science Center. The sun held high in the sky, warming the shoulders of the guests gathered around them and carried the sweet smells of the breakfast being warmed for them to follow. Their day was bright and lively, just like their love for one another!
I photographed Amanda + Max’s engagement session late last year where we made our way through Portsmouth, NH and then climbed the rocks out on Odiorne Point so I knew that these two permanently smiling people were going to have a day that was just as full of energy and love as their session was.
We started the day in the place that I am always a fan of beginning in, a family home. A family home always has this special warmth, this ease, and this feeling of comfort and Amanda’s parent’s home in Exeter was no different! When I showed up bright and early I was greeted by the strong love this tight knit family has for one another and walls that were adorned with photos and mementos of experiences and joy they shared together.
I love how being in a home adds to the day like how Amanda’s dress hung from a hook in her childhood bedroom doorway (across from her best friend and sister’s bedroom) and how she was able to have a first look with her father in the same entry way where her dad saw her for the first time after she was all done up for prom. Love it!
After a sweet first look between Amanda + Max along the water at the Seacoast Science Center and family photos in a patch of shade, we headed into the ceremony at an early 10:30am hour! Then the guests were off to their ballroom dancing lesson (Amanda is a pro!) and photos with the married couple along the water. By the time we returned everyone was ready for breakfast, toasts, and lots more dancing!
It was a wonderful morning and the couple’s love shined brighter than the sun – congratulations, Amanda + Max, I wish you all the best!
