Quinebaug Valley Council for Arts & Humanities Wedding Photographer : Meg + Brad

Meg, Brad + I go way back. The first time I talked to them I was on my honeymoon and they were inquiring with me about a date far off in the future to see if I could photograph their wedding. Their plans were still in flux and they had many decisions left to make but the fact that they knew they wanted to have me there to document it was an honor I didn’t take lightly. We hung out a few times over the year and a half that we knew each other and each time I was around them I loved them more and more. Their relationship is one of pure joy, love and a large dash of sassiness and their wedding was absolutely nothing short of that description.

They married on a Tuesday in September because when looking into dates they found that particular one to be favorable in the hand-fasting ritual they would have for their ceremony (love everything about that idea) and once wed, they changed their last names to be “I adore you” in another language. FRIGGIN. AWESOME.

Their day was so finely tuned to who they are as people and who they represent as a couple and for this and many other reasons, they were the perfect couple for me to photograph.

After the father daughter dance to Patience by Guns ‘N Roses (he used to sing that to her as a baby – they just get cooler and cooler, no?) the dancing kicked into high gear. And even though they had only around 50 people with them, the dancing that night was probably some of the most spirited I have ever photographed! The two of them didn’t leave the dance floor and the guests rocked it all night long after some did a quick change into dancing clothes. Added bonus? The DJ was awesome too!

Speaking of awesome-ness, Meg’s uncle was not only the officiant, he also is the man who made her wedding dress. INCREDIBLE! One of the prettiest dresses with details like lace from her mother’s dress and a black felt heart sewn on the inside that aligned with the heart in her chest.

The day was a blast! I loved it, I love them, now let’s love on these pictures!

Meg + Brad met when they were actors in the play “Heiress” where Meg received rave reviews for her performance. That play premiered at the same venue as their wedding; pretty cool, right? Brad’s mom dug out the article for me so I pinned it to the wall with the others for a quick picture :)

The Quinebaug Valley Council for Arts & Humanities where they were wed frequently has art shows and on this occasion there was art up on the hill so you KNOW I wanted to take some pictures in front of that!

She is perfect!

Not only is this girly girl pretty awesome, but she also teaches dance classes which explains why she tore up the dance floor and won my heart.
