Plymouth State University New Hampshire Wedding Photographer: Karen + Kaitlin

The very first time I met Karen + Kaitlin I couldn’t get enough of their energy toward one another and if I was only given one word to describe them, I would choose “fun”. But I’d say that word a billion times: fun, fun fun! They share a matched sense of wildly awesome creativity and I never saw them for longer than a minute where a smile didn’t light up their faces. But their love isn’t just reflected in the fun, it is also reflected in the strong support they give one another and their ability to bask the good times and only recognize the bad with a fleeting glance because they have one another to get through the rough spots, which is all they truly need.

And shut the front door they presented ME with a handmade gift the first time we met in person! I honestly thought I was going to cry when Kaitlin handed me over the most perfect winter hat that I sported all season.

And when I say that the two of them are fun, I honestly whole-heartedly mean it! Their wedding had dashes of superhero thrown into the mix with Karen’s shoes sporting all of the Marvel greats and the table markers displaying their favorite super heroes – including the most PERFECT one for Oscar and I that I now proudly display in my office. If you know a thing or two about comic books, you will know why she had us sit at the “Peter Parker” table and how awesome it is!

Their day was so well thought out with the ceremony being at Plymouth State University where they first met in college, the spots we stopped in for photos that are landmark locations for their relationship, and the vows that were SO GOOD that it had their guests and us laughing alongside them and also tearing up too.

And another great thing about their wedding? They had an unplugged ceremony which meant that family and friends weren’t busy taking pictures or holding up iPads to record the ceremony, instead they really listened to the vows and were all right there in the moment. It made the ceremony so much more intimate and allowed for Karen and Kaitlin to look out into the crowd and see faces smiling back at them instead of gadgets. Perfection!

Karen and Kaitlin, I am lucky to have such wonderful new friends in my life and I look forward to hearing more about your adventures. I wish you all the best, congratulations!!

Karen worked on campus at Plymouth State for quite a while so when one of the security guards showed up on the day to congratulate them, we just had to do this! See? FUN!
