New London New Hampshire Wedding Photographer : Laura + Jonny

Laura and Jonny had a lot going on the month before their wedding: for starters, they were living apart from one another with him working at the Army base in South Carolina and her spending the summer with her family on the Cape getting ready for their big day. Add to that the need to find a new place to live because their landlord decided to sell the house and wanted to have them out 3 days before their New Hampshire wedding mixed with their concern that Jonny’s brother/best man/best friend may not be able to make it because he was in Army Ranger school (which is insanely intense!) and you have what would normally send people into a spiral of panic!….But not Laura.

And true to her character, when the forecast was calling for rain all day, she didn’t allow for that to get in the way of her excitement, instead they moved the wedding from the outdoor location to be in the tented backyard of Jonny’s parents house, bought some rain boots, and a couple fancy umbrellas and got pumped for the exciting day ahead. Yup folks, I somehow I manage to get the best couples in the world who know that rain or shine, getting married is the most important thing of the day. Love it!

October has a great deal of special meaning to these two with it being breast cancer awareness month which Jonny’s mom recently battled and defeated, as well as it being their favorite time of year because they are huge Patriots fans – he proposed to her at a Patriots game! – and it is also the month that Jonny came home to her after his two year deployment to Afghanistan.

The day moved quickly and we pushed against the impending rain getting as many pictures of the two of them as well as the family formals outside before it started to really rain (it misted the entire time we were outside, but Laura didn’t care a bit! She even requested a sitting on the ground shot…IN HER WEDDING DRESS! Shoooooot, girl!) and then just as the ceremony was getting under way, the skies opened up and didn’t let up until the night was done.

But no one cared. No one! We were here to celebrate the marriage of two of the sweetest people I have gotten to know and between Laura’s smile and heart that could light a thousand darkened rooms and Jonny’s loving and caring approach to anyone and everyone, the day was excellent. The guests rocked that tent with dancing (even some dancing on the tables courtesy of Laura’s and Jonny’s moms!), enjoyed speeches that got the whole room rolling with laughter and created some of the best photo booth images I’ve captured to date!

I love you two, your families and your friends (and we are now friends for life, I hope you are aware of that contract you are now in with me :) ). Congratulations on your marriage and for each finding such a wonderful person to spend your life with.

Family is extremely important to Laura and Jonny so just as Jonny’s brother is his best friend, Laura’s super sweet sister Olivia is hers. I love their love :)

I don’t typically eat the dessert at a wedding because I just feel odd doing it but Laura insisted that we had some of what she claimed were the best pies she has ever had. HOLY CRAP, THESE PIES WERE AMAZING!! If you venture to the Cape, you must look them up. I’m drooling just thinking about it! They baked mini pies for the guests with bourbon vanilla whipped cream to pile on top…and then all was right in the world
