Oh Kitz Farm, you’re incredibly beautiful. How is it that I’ve never worked here before and I’m only a short drive away?!
The walk through the tall grasses to the plateau where the ceremony site overlooks the pond down below and the rolling hills that allllllmost look like mountains. The ease of being close to so much and yet when you’re there you feel so far away from it all. It’s incredible property and I was seriously so shocked that I never knew just how stunning this venue is.
And then at the center of it is all Jess + Jared, two fun-loving humans with loads of talent and loads of fun all contained within their bodies. They inquired with me at the same time as another couple and as I talked to both sets of them and heard about their days and who they are as couples, I found myself very drawn into the story Jess + Jared shared.
I’ve run up against this scenario a few times – where two couples are moving towards booking at the same time – and I always reiterate that I’m never booked until the dotted line is signed…but I secretly began pushing my thoughts into them and hoping that they’d be the ones I’d spend a late June afternoon with.
So when they decided to go with me and we officially inked their date on my calendar with their two first names, I was pumped!
The day ended up being a perfect one for a wedding with a view.
Bright blue skies filled with giant cotton ball clouds, a breeze in the air, and a temperature that was just right. Jess got ready in the Kitz Farm home with the girls all laughing around her (and her brother – who is essentially her in the male form in practically every single way) and as the minutes skipped past, Jared arrived right on time ready to see his girl at their first look.
They laughed, they high-fived, they shared a couple of jokes about the antics of the day so far, and then we were off!
From family photos, to the ceremony, to the photos of just the married couple, to the barn burner reception – one thing that remained a constant was the absolute FUN these two and their friends have together. It was a non-stop laughter, beer shotgunning, piñata smashing, dance floor chicken fighting, and singing at the top of your lungs kind of day – and it fit these two perfectly!
And when we grabbed them for some photos as the sun was dipping behind those aforementioned rolling hills and Jess’ hair with it’s naturally slight strawberry tint was lit up with the golden sun against the deep green trees, I simply fell in love with her beauty.
Jess, if I could’ve stopped time, I would’ve spent an hour photographing you in that light! (Jared, you’re not so shabby either….but c’mon, it’s hard to top that woman!)
