NH Bride Magazine Wedding at The Preserve & an ISPWP Award!

The latest issue of NH Bride Magazine has a two page spread on Liz + Alex’s The Preserve at Chocorua and Church Island wedding on Squam Lake! I’m so excited to have their day featured in print – I feel like their day is one to inspire people to embrace all that happens on a wedding day and just enjoy the fun of the moments no matter what!

If you’ve been around my website or my Instagram, you’re probably aware of this wedding because it features that epic photo of the couple and their wedding party jetting across Squam Lake on their Chris Craft boat as the storm rolls in behind them. That wind, those dark blue skies, the midnight velvet water, the choppy waves, the smiles on everyone’s faces – I LOVE IT.

And to add awesome on top of awesome news of being published in NH Magazine’s Bride issue, “the” boat image won an award with the ISPWP (in the dropdown bar, select “Wedding Venue or Location” and scroll until you see my pi)! This is a group that I kinda felt I would never win an award through because the creativity that is submitted to that group is out of this world. You’re only allowed to submit a couple of images each round and they are spaced out throughout the year so you have to choose wisely when you submit to them and I’m glad this one stuck! Just being a member of this group is an honor, here’s a little about them:

The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) is a rarity among wedding photography organizations. Photographers cannot simply buy an ISPWP membership, they have to earn it.

Our requirements are experience, talent, and professionalism. To be accepted, a photographer must have shot at least 50 weddings, submit their portfolio for review, agree to operate under the ISPWP Code of Conduct, and have an ISPWP Sponsor or four references. And THEN they have to be voted in by current members.

In short, when you hire an ISPWP Photographer, you are hiring a talented veteran with a track record, peer recognition, and a passion for creating heirloom images of your wedding.”

ISPWP isn’t as heavily weighted on photojournalism moments like my sweet sweet WPJA and they actually encourage punching up your images to make them stand out and I just never thought that I’d be chosen from them – but here we are! So completely honored to be chosen among my worldwide photography peers as a winner and the talent in this go around was stunning as always.

Liz + Alex, I’ve said it a million times over, but I love you two, your families (Mary!) + your daughter – your wedding day was epically perfect and I’m excited I get to once again celebrate it in print.

Thank you to everyone who helped take part in their day from the beautiful venue of The Preserve at Chocorua (the owners are the best. THE BEST), the absolutely unique ceremony venue out at the Chapel on Church Island in the middle of Squam Lake, the wildflower-inspired bouquets from Little State Flower Company, hair by Cascade Spa at Mill Falls, catering by White Mountain Cider Company + more. And thank you to NH Magazine Bride for featuring their day – pick up this issue at newsstands all over New England.
