Portsmouth, New Hampshire Connection Shoot : Sara + Eric
The ever so lovely Sara + Eric traveled from out of state to celebrate their second wedding anniversary on a warm summer night here in Portsmouth, NH and invited me along to photograph their love.
Portsmouth is the town they love to visit and it’s where he proposed to her in front of the church in Market Square – which is also the site where Sara says her head exploded with happiness when he surprised her by getting down on one knee! Sara is a wedding photographer herself so she knows just how important it is to switch it up and get in front of the camera for some updated photos. I love it when couples come to me on their anniversary for photos, it is SUCH an honor to be chosen and then throw another peer wanting photos and it’s all the more heart warming!
Sara + I connected over our crazy kitty love – she even mailed me a picture of her kitty, Faith, and I juuuuust about popped with excitement at seeing that fur face! Animal lovers are the best, I feel like there is a special language between people like us who just swoon at the site of animal paws and whiskers. People who love to snuggle up with furry pets = my jam.
We had so much fun wandering the streets of Portsmouth, visiting their familiar haunts and sealing the memories in images. I could tell that this relationship is one of joy and fun as they cracked each other up left and right and then Eric took it to another level by surprising her (and me!) with a ring she’s had her eye on – HE’S SO SWEET!! I LOVE IT!! Sara just beamed when he handed it to her and I high-fived his awesome-ness. And let’s not even begin to talk about his skills in front of the camera, Sara has taught him well because this guy was a natural and was totally down with showering his lovely wife with affection.
I love her bold personality and his gentle way of letting her know how much he loves her without even saying a single word. These two are perfect for one another and I am so happy I was able to photograph their love.
Sara + Eric, let’s hang out for real next time you are in town and get that dinner together! And happy two year anniversary, here’s to many many more!

Oh my goodness. I am going to throw up from happiness. These are absolutely incredible and are giving me ALL THE FEELS! It’s so amazing to see us captured in a place we love the most and see it from this side of the lens.
