Newburyport Engagement Session Photographer : Jordan + Don

The love stories and backgrounds that my couples share when they first inquire about having me photograph their wedding are often times some of my favorite aspects of getting that first email. Jordan’s first message from me did not disappoint.

She talked of not only she and Don’s love for staying healthy and youth outreach but she also shared how they also are both elite mountain bike and cyclocross racers who visit places all over the world to compete in their sport. And THEN mix in their desire to have a wedding that really reflects who they are as a couple with family members all pulling together to put the pieces in motion AND their excitement to have a sustainable catering company serving dinner who composts or recycles all of the waste from their event…I AM HOOKED!

I literally leaned over to Oscar after reading her message and said, “This couple is badass. Seriously, I love them already.” And that’s pretty much exactly what I said to her in my email back. I debated about how the “badass” comment would be received by a complete stranger – but I couldn’t help myself! They just are badasses. End of story.

Thankfully my comment didn’t scare them off because I am so excited to shoot their wedding next year! They definitely keep me at the top of list for having the best clients in the world!

They wanted to have their engagement pictures before it was too chilly and far enough away from their big day so they could use the pictures for wedding day fun so off we went on a blustery November day to Newburyport, Massachusetts where we ventured though the brick lined streets and a quick couple of minutes by the water before we froze our buns off too much.

I had a great afternoon with this pair and I am such a lucky lucky girl to be able to photograph their badass wedding next year! Woo!
