Venturing in Waterville Valley New Hampshire for Allie + Kevin’s wedding meant a day full of laughter and lots spaces where the newlyweds held onto each other tight while the chill of a rain fell around them. Although not all of the events went off as planned with a last minute moving of the ceremony indoors, nothing could stop these two from having an absolutely beautiful celebration and enjoying the outdoors that drew them into choosing Waterville Valley Resort. In fact, the rain didn’t change anything else from their first look to formal photos because they and the rest of the crew didn’t hesitate to take the chance to take in some beautiful scenery while doing quick dashes out in the weather.
When I met them in person before they’d booked me for their day, I joked how Kevin has a secret agent vibe because of his quiet, calm demeanor mixed in with his ability to be assertive, yet inviting. You feel like if you are in his circle, he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure no harm is done to you; and for anyone thinking of crossing the line and tempting fate, you can tell he’d be the first to swiftly make you realize that was a bad idea.
But don’t make the mistake of thinking Allie is anyone’s pushover or even necessarily needs protecting – this woman is strong in every sense of the word and I personally feel she’s the rock of their family. She’s not one to back down during times of strife and instead will dig in and do whatever it takes to make sure the two of them thrive. And even though she’s so much tinier than Kevin? She’s the big spoon every night haha! Me too, Allie. Me too :)
And I need a minute to talk about her dress. GORGEOUS! The lace that laid upon her shoulders and fell gently across her back was so beautiful and it mimicked her stunning beauty perfectly.
I loved all of the time we got to spend time with these two along the footpaths behind the resort where the quiet tree cover made us feel as if we were hidden away from it all. It was a small hike down from the ceremony and reception to where the light got really pretty and the two of them could have some space to themselves to wrap up in one another’s arms and get that sliver of time together before the day sped back up.
I adored how anytime they were together, Kevin would wrap his arms lovingly around her small frame and bring her in close because it allowed me to capture the quiet side of their love for one another.
The quiet love that every couple has is a favorite of mine. Not many get to see that side of a couple and they typically don’t get to have many photos of it as a result, so when people allow me in for that it creates the kind of photo magic I was able to capture of the two of them.
Allie + Kevin, you two are clearly loved so very deeply by your friends and family and every moment of your day proved that time and time again. You two have a beautiful relationship that will weather any storm and I’m so honored I got to meet you and photograph your love. I wish you all the best!
