I AM … a Trenton Maine wedding photographer and I photographed Ali + Bryan’s waterfront cabin wedding overlooking Acadia and Mt Cadillac! What a day, what a couple, what a ceremony!!
Before I jump into their day, here’s a fact about me: I AM A CRIER and over the past couple of years I feel like I do it more often at things that aren’t just sad but at things that are happy too. Just this past weekend we were driving to a friend’s party and I cried while driving past a horse napping with a bunch of cattle because animals are the best and I can’t handle it when different species hang out lovingly together…I know.
However, with that said, I strangely don’t tear up at weddings all that often. Odd, I know.
It’s especially odd since I get very emotionally invested in my couples and their celebrations, but I think it’s because I’m so in my creative photographer mode and focused on looking for all of the little things happening around me that I sorta get into a zone and tears don’t often break that creative wall.
But Ali and Bryan’s wedding? I cried. A lot. And so did Oscar.
Their ceremony was extremely touching and the amount of joy and love that their family and everyone in attendance was showing for them and their love for each other was over the top incredible. They made the ceremony so very fitting to their personalities with the best flower guy ever, the crowd clapping and cheering as each member of the wedding party entered, the vows that made nearly everyone cry during them (not joking, there were so many tears and this was the part where both Oscar and I got choked up), and the wedding party dancing back up the aisle – it was something that would warm even the coldest of hearts.
And in addition to Ali and Bryan being such down to earth great people, both of their families and their wedding party were a great group to hang out with too. Even with the rain and overcast skies (it’s been one rainy wedding season this year!), everyone was just so happy to be there and to celebrate two of the kindest people marrying at the location where they first fell in love.
And what a spot to hold the memories of the start of your relationship with your forever person!
Acadia and the cabins Ali’s family owns that face the mountains on Mount Desert Island are the home to the start of their relationship. This area is filled with great memories of these two meeting while being sea kayak guides and dates spent hiking in Acadia. They fell in love being the adventurous outdoors lovers that they still are today and their wedding celebration was the perfect reflection of that solid and strong bond they’ve created with one another and their families.
The wedding day energy was never dulled, even with one bridesmaid being stuck in traffic for hours and hours, they went with the ever-changing flow that is a wedding day and held out faith that she’d make it in time – and when she did arrive about 5 minutes before they walked down the aisle there was tons of celebrating and screams of happiness all over the place!
I love it when celebrations are like theirs, they’re full of all the beautiful emotions that these days stir up, they’re unique to the couple, and nothing is able to break that beautiful barrier of love surrounding them – not even rain or a delayed wedding party member!
Thank you to Ali and Bryan and everyone else who took part in this amazing day, we were so happy to be a part of it all and wish you the very best on your adventures in life!
