Bridgton Maine Wedding Photographer Tarry-Awhile Resort : Alli + Eric

Here’s a little something about me most people don’t know: I grew up obsessed with the movie “The Parent Trap” – not the Lindsay Lohan one, the original 1961 one with Hayley Mills. I used to watch that movie all the time and I loved the camp the twins go to when they first meet. It was so perfect and rustic and I loved that the girls slept in cabins in the woods, went swimming and canoeing in the lake, and played amongst the pine trees. SO imagine my face when I got to shoot Alli + Eric’s wedding up at Tarry-Awhile resort in Maine which basically brings that movie to life – I was in love!

And lucky Alli grew up coming to this very lake as a kid and spending summers in the cottage her family owns across the water from the resort so it made perfect sense for this to be the backdrop to their wedding day.

Alli was easily one of the most laid-back brides known to mankind and although she was little hesitant to have her photo taken, she proved to be quite the stunner in her photos. But she didn’t want to make a fuss about the day, she just truly wanted to marry Eric and enjoy the guests who were coming together on this day. So she didn’t want pictures of the dress, the shoes, the rings, the flowers (when I asked, it was “nope, I’m good!”) and she didn’t have a wedding party and instead she just opted for her closest friends to get ready in the cottages she grew up in with her.

They infused the day with all of the things they loved from kayaks to bike riding and for dessert they had a mixed table of delicious treats that the little ones had a tough time not touching :) Alli + Eric danced to a live bluegrass band on the grass overlooking the lake, played music, and sat by the fire in the recreation hall (which is straight out of “The Parent Trap”!), the guests and the couple stayed the night at the resort in cabins and everyone thoroughly and completely enjoyed themselves in her favorite place in Maine.

A wonderful couple, a wonderful night, and a wonderful location – that’s the triple threat right there, folks! Alli + Eric, I wish you all the best!

Alli’s mom laughed SO HARD at one of the speeches and couldn’t stop the laughing train once it started – which reminded me of my own mom who does the same thing. Contagious laughter is the best!
