Beginning // Flag Hill Winery Wedding Photographer

We all have to start somewhere, and this is my beginning. I used to photograph a lot when I was younger (for newspapers, bands and an assistant/second shooter to two wonderful wedding photographers in San Diego) but as I pursued school and got diverted by life – I stopped focusing on it so much.

I bought cheap point and shoot cameras and took photos of family and places I’d been, but I stopped really seeing things with a photographer’s eye – I’d stopped seeking it out….until my very good friend’s wedding.

I’d wanted a Canon DSLR camera badly. Badly. It just wasn’t happening because I hadn’t buckled down and saved for it until I got the brilliant idea of putting it on a credit card that had no interest for a full year; and that’s when I bought a Canon 7D. My first re-attempt at photography was about five days post-purchase at Kim & Erik’s wedding and I was instantly brought that rush that I used to get when I take photos. I found myself inspired again.

So here it begins (again), and this time I am sticking with it for the long haul. Here’s some of my favorites from the day that brought the image back into my life.
