Award Winning New Hampshire and Maine Wedding Photographer

When I woke up the other day and saw that I’d won an award from Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) I was floored and so very excited to be named as a gold winner in the “Best Wedding Photographers in 2018 V07 Photography Competition”! It was my second time submitting to this contest and I knew I was amongst some of the best of the best in the industry so to have mine chosen was such a great and validating feeling!

My image from Paula + Marc’s wedding at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts of them exiting the church under a shower of celebratory birdseed was chosen to be a gold place which means that all four judges voted for my image to be the best of the best.

And these judges are no joke, they’re photojournalists who’ve worked alongside U.S. Presidents starting as far back as JFK and working for outfits like Newsweek, Time and Life magazine. They’ve photographed natural disasters all over the world as well as covering war-torn countries, and terrorist attacks like the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. These photographers have won top journalism awards for their tireless work so to say I’m honored by their decision to choose my image is putting it mildly.

Photography has such a hold on me and has had one since I started out as a photojournalist myself working for a small paper outside of Cleveland, Ohio in high school where my images were recorded on rolls of film. I love what I do and I put so much of my heart into each wedding I photograph and to not only be accepted into organizations like WPJA where they make sure your portfolio is in line with having a photojournalist heart to it but then to win an award for the work is absolutely wonderful.
