Dover New Hampshire Portraits Photography : Angie

Hello world, I’d like you to meet my cousin Angie. She’s in college in Mexico City right now studying to be a Space Architect. Yes you read that right, this little human wants to help design the home of our future.

Angie and I both have a love for outer space; it just seems dreamy, magical, and infinitely unknown which excites us to no end. When we live in a world where so much has already been discovered, it’s almost impossible to think that there is a place we look at each night that is filled to the brim with questions and things that we can’t even begin to fathom. Its bright and dark, it’s colorful and and stark, and it’s visible yet at the same time it’s way out of reach.

I’d like to think that I’d one day get to experience outer space for myself, but for someone like Angie, that is literally one of her life missions.

We talk about space, about black holes, singularities, and flattened timelines – but we also talk about girls we idolize and love because she is, without a doubt, a girl’s girl. She champions women, speaks out for them, gets excited when they are recognized for their achievements and knows that a strong woman is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

But I think my favorite part about her is her massive personality. She is hysterical! Seriously and legitimately hysterical. Her quick wit and caustic with a smile attitude had Oscar and I laughing each and every night we’d sit around our kitchen’s island talking about anything and everything. She spent two weeks with us as part of a gift from her parents (where she literally could have chosen to go anywhere and she chose to come hang out with us!) and in that time it was affirmed what I already knew was true: GOOD LORD I LOVE HER!!

Smart, funny, confident, cute, and beautiful – this girl has it all and she is mine all mine! I always tell her I would adopt her as my child if she ever needed it – however I think her actual parents have clearly done an amazing job raising her! But still…I’ll keep her ;)

I told her that one of the stipulations she must accept if she came to visit was I was going to get to take photos of her. So one night the three of us ventured into the setting sun and the dark mills at night and took some photo magic using off camera flash – a technique I am enjoying honing in on – and created these Dover, NH portraits.

Ardilla, I love you to tiny little pieces and I can’t wait to come visit you in Mexico soon <3 You're an INCREDIBLE human being and I'm so proud of the person you are; I can't wait to see the things you do in your life!
