With a spring that was consistently bringing in day after day of rain and never quite warming up enough to have windows open instead of portable heaters running, I was growing restless.
REALLY restless.
Shoot after shoot was being pushed to later in the season because of the chill, and while I itched to get my season rolling, the weather was just not playing nice. So as we inched closer to the day I was to hang out with Meghan and Dave for their engagement session, watching the the weather was a daily past time and although it was supposed to be partly cloudy, it was slated to play nice.
Finally!
When the night before their shoot had weather apps still saying we’d have no rain, I was pumped to announce that our shoot was on – so off to Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, MA I went!
After greeting the soon to be wed couple and their pup Tugger in the parking lot, we walked along the coastal woods of the park they love to spend time in together (it’s also the place where Meghan thought Dave was going to propose, but he didn’t!) which meant they have lots of fun memories from the area – perfect!
We took photos up on the beautiful stone bridges that overlook the water and even spotted an otter traveling down stream, (an OTTER!! so cute!!!) along with some time in the tall grasses where Tugger bounded in and out of the deep green ocean of plants, we rested for a little bit on the rocks overlooking the water before heading back up a hill for a quick change of clothes right as the light moved behind the clouds and evening started setting in quickly.
The two of them laughed, played, told me about their adventures, and were the most excellent of models – I couldn’t have asked for more!
This fall they head to Maine to be married at Hardy Farm and I’m so looking forward to photographing them all again – including Tugger who will be making his appearance there too!
2017 is going to be a great one for sure!!
