New Castle New Hampshire Elopement Photographer + a Lunar Perigee : Vivian + Jeff

Once upon a time I was invited along to photograph the love shared between a newly married couple. They’d married one another quietly in a courthouse close to their home in the city and although a few photos were taken, they and their families felt they needed to really document their love.

They haven’t spent a great deal of time up here in New Castle, New Hampshire but after her amazing makeup artist referred them to me (thank you, Yin Tom Studio!) they found they were mesmerized by the wild landscapes, the rocky shores, and the waist high grasses they’d found in my NH photos. So we worked together to find just the spots to commemorate their marriage and a date where the cold of late fall was starting to settle in.

And what makes the date we chose even more memorable was that their session settled in between the two nights November where the skies would be alight with a supermoon – or as this space infatuated girl knows it, a lunar perigee. It’s the closest the moon has been to the Earth since 1948, and it wouldn’t be that close again until 2034.

So as the Earth pulled in close to it’s orbiter in an event we only get to see once or twice in our lifetime, they’d mirror that admiration and wander together wrapped in tight and capture their once in a lifetime love.

We started at the Little Harbor Chapel in Portsmouth NH where the beautiful brick building sits deep in the woods and then the rest of our time was out in nature where Vivian would be held tight in her husband’s arms while wearing two beautiful dresses.

These two are so in love. And so full of laughter!

They were ready and excited to be in front of the camera and were open to any and all of my crazy ideas. In between being absolutely stunning to photograph, they were breaking into fits of laughter that was equally fun to document! Basically any time they tried to seriously look at one another, they would burst out into laughter and fall into each other’s arms.

I loved every minute!!

I’m so honored I was chosen to photograph you, Vivian + Jeff, and I thank you for being so open and willing to venture into the woods, climb on the rocks, and even walk barefoot on the beach for me – your photos really speak to me as an artist because you allowed me that creative outlet…AND you two are such great muses! You’re beautiful both inside and out and I wish you all the best!
