Jackson, New Hampshire Elopement : Rebecca, Tim + Madilyn

My last wedding of 2015 was perhaps one of the sweetest. It was the celebration of a little family – Rebecca, Tim + Madilyn – who ventured up to the mountains of Jackson, New Hampshire on a chilly November day to be married in a gazebo with just the three of them to witness it. The littlest, Madilyn, knew that her Mom was going to be marrying Tim, but the actual date was a surprise, so when her Mom woke her early on a Friday morning, she was SO excited that instead of heading into school, she was going take an adventure to the Christmas Tree Farm Inn for a wedding!

The laughter and excitement each had in their various ways was contagious and while Tim hid himself away, I hung out with the girls while they finished getting prettied.

I must say that from moment one of meeting little Madilyn, I was smitten. It was a combination of her patience, her kindness, and the way she quietly watched her mom but I think the part that stole my heart completely was when she was talking about her cats and dogs and I asked her what her favorite animal was and after a thoughtful pause she whispered, “I love them all.” I melted! That’s a girl after my heart! And with every awesome child comes with awesome adult role models and you can tell that both Rebecca and Tim have a lot to do with just how wonderful she is. All three of them overflow with love and support for one another; it was so wonderful to be a part of this huge day in their lives.

After sneaking past Tim so the girls could quickly get into wedding attire, we hustled out into the brisk fall air for a first look on the back patio of the Inn overlooking the mountains and then we were off down the road to be married! During their ceremony Rebecca and Tim not only promised to always care and love one another, they also made the same promise to Madilyn as well as presenting her with a silver locket to fill with pictures of the three of them on this big day. The gift filled her eyes with tears of happiness…and mine too. This was one amazing family I got to witness joining together!

Rebecca and Tim drove us to a few iconic spots in Jackson where we’d hop out and snap as many pictures as the cool temperatures would allow and then we’d we warm up in the car as we headed to the next location. I loved the banter of these three and the love that they share, and let’s not lie, I loved chatting with Madilyn and laughing at pictures of my cats on my phone!

Our two hours together went by fast but it was the perfect way to end my wedding season because their day boiled the whole meaning down to the one core meaning perfectly: the creation of a new loving family. I squeezed the newlyweds tightly as we laughed at our adventures and then I got the most perfect send off when a tired Madilyn reached up to me to give me a huge hug good-bye – my day was made!

Congratulations Rebecca, Tim + Madilyn! I wish you all the very best!
