Dover New Hampshire Elopement Photographer City Hall Wedding : Rachael + Aaron

Rachael + Aaron decided on a small wedding in the backyard of their new house – I love it when I get to photograph at least part of the day in a family home because so much comfort, love and personality fills the rooms – and theirs did not disappoint!

Pictures on the walls, notes stuck to the refrigerator, diplomas – both college AND kindergarten ones for Rachael and Aaron respectively :D – ticket stubs, art work, and large ceramic panthers protecting the garden. You know, the usual. When not photographing the family popping in and out, I found myself drawn to photographing the home’s details as well as the two sweet kitties that joined Rachael as she stepped into her wedding dress.

Rachael’s sister Emily is very near and dear to her heart and from helping her with her dress, to delicately adorning her with the jewelry she’d chosen, and smoothing out her hair before she walked out to be married, she was there at every moment with support and love. Her mother remarked to me that these two girls are the best things she has ever done in her life and the love the three of them hold for one another filled the room with a warmth and a calm that helped keep Rachael’s nerves at bay.

After the details were gently in place, Rachael + Aaron had a first look in their bedroom and then we all headed out to the wooded backyard where tears softly fell down her cheeks and a kiss made it official after 10 years of being by each other’s side.

To end our time together we went into downtown Dover, New Hampshire for some photos in front of the stately City Hall and a few more along the tree lined river before they returned back to their home where the smells of a celebration lunch greeted them as they walked into their home hand in hand.

I’m so happy I was there to photograph your day, you two are so in love and so careful with each other’s hearts and I wish you all the very best!

Across from the wall with Rachael’s diplomas sits Aaron’s kindergarten diploma which is appropriately hung halfway down the wall :)
